Join us for this informative introduction to SBA's HUBZone Certification program. If you are a small business owner interested in learning more about SBA's HUBZone Certification program you should plan on attending this free HUBZone Outreach Seminar, at the San Diego County Health Services Complex – Coronado Room, 3851 Rosecrans St., San Diego CA 92110-3115 (Free parking on-site.) This HUBZone Outreach Seminar, a part of the HUBZone Outreach Initiative to promote job development and growth, will provide an overview of the program; help you determine if your business is located within a HUBZone; if it is eligible for the program; and how to apply for HUBZone status. The Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) program helps small businesses in urban and rural communities gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities. These preferences go to small businesses that obtain HUBZone certification in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone. The company must also maintain a "principal office" in one of these specially designated areas. In Fiscal Year 2010, HUBZone firms were awarded approximately $12 billion in prime contracting, including approximately $3 billion in HUBZone set-asides. Between April and May, SBA will be conducting 68 HUBZone Outreach Initiatives, hosted by each of its District Offices around the country. Seating is limited. Those interested in attending should reserve a seat by sending an email to Rosa.Rodarte@sba.gov. Please include:
